Resilience: A course for people who want to deal more positively with stress at work or home
Introduction:
This course offers a great way of exploring, in a supportive environment, some of the problems and the potential of living with stress and anxiety. It offers the opportunity to learn and gain support from others and to share your own experiences.
This course will offer an opportunity to build on your strengths and develop more resilience.
This group will meet weekly for six weeks. It will be a small group (with an absolute maximum of 6 participants) to allow for lots of high-quality one-to-one and small group feedback and discussion.
Participants often say that being in a training group is a useful part of the work: knowing that others experience similar things and learning how others cope.
We will focus on a different topic each week and part of the time will be spent in sharing experiences with others who may face similar problems.
The course trainer/facilitator will also be active in supporting you to learn new skills with which to respond to the situations you identify as stressful.
We will have a here and now, problem solving, practical orientation and we will expect participants to leave with new skills and strengths and improved resilience, as well as gaining some insight into what might have contributed to life’s difficulties in the first place.
Course trainer/facilitator:
Jo Lucas MSc. Jo has many years of experience in running courses and groups for carers of people with mental health problems, for people experiencing stress at work and in their lives, and in assertiveness training. She is an international social work trainer and consultant and is in the final stage of her second MSc, in Integrative Psychotherapy.
