Assertiveness and resilience group/course for women
Six weekly evening-meetings. We advise booking your place early to avoid disappointment.
Time: the next course will be on Wednesday or Thursday evening staring after Easter 2016
Cost: £27 a session or £162. £150 if all 6 sessions are booked and paid for in advance.
The group will be no more than 8 women.
Facilitator: Jo Lucas
Jo has many years experience of running groups on a range of topics including relaxation, assertiveness, stress and management, self help, advocacy and counselling skills. She has a BSc in psychology and sociology, an MSc in Integrative psychotherapy and an MSc in social policy and social work. She is a qualified psychotherapist, accredited by the UKCP.

A great way of resolving some of the problems of living with stress and anxiety. They offer the opportunity to learn and gain support from others, reduce isolation and to share your own experiences. This group will offer an opportunity to build on your strengths and develop more assertiveness and grow more resilient.
This group will meet weekly for six weeks. The thought of joining a group can be daunting but most people quickly overcome any shyness. Participants say that being in a group is a great part of the process, learning that others are experiencing similar things and learning coping strategies from them.
Topics covered will include:
Assertiveness – what stops us being assertive and what are the skills.
Resilience – building on our strengths to deal with the things life throws at us
Stress management- ways of coping with the stress that arises in life and work.
By the end of the six sessions you can expect to
- understand the skills and practice of being assertive
- understand some of the things that stop you being assertive
- have develop new skills in resilience
