20 Mercers Row,

Cambridge,

Directions:

By car

If you are coming by car, approaching Mercers Row by driving away from the city centre you will need to take a left hand turn down Swanns Road just before the railway bridge on Newmarket Road. This is a one way system and if you follow the road round to the left it becomes Mercers Row. Cambridge Counselling Service is toward the end of this road (opposite Howdens) and on your right.

If you are approaching Mercers Row by driving down Newmarket Road toward the city centre, you will need to make a 180 degree turn at the traffic lights adjacent to B&Q in order to access the one way system via Swanns Road as described above.

If you wish to avoid Newmarket Road, it would be possible to park your car in Chesterton, near the Green Dragon Pub, and take the footbridge across the river. Mercers Row is less than a 5 minute walk across Stourbridge Common from here.

Free parking is available in the car park at the front of 20 Mercers Row: Cambridge Counselling Service has four allocated spaces adjacent to the fence that runs alongside the Honda garage car park (with signs attached to the fence marking the CCS bays). There is further free parking available nearby (on Oyster Row for example), if the allocated CCS and general visitor spaces in the car park are all taken.

By bus/train

If you are coming by bus you will need to take either the Citi3 or the Park and Ride 2 and stop at Stanley Road. If you are travelling away from the City Centre good landmarks to look for before pressing the bell would be passing the entrance to Tesco on your left and seeing the sign for B&Q on your right. After alighting from the bus, walk down Garlic Row to where it intersects with Mercers Row.

If you are traveling along Newmarket Road towards the city centre, a good landmark to use would be John Banks Honda.

The office is a short walk (20 mins) or bike ride (5 mins) from Cambridge North station.

By bike or on foot

If you are approaching Mercers Row from the city centre, the most pleasant way to come is to follow the river out of town before cutting across Stourbridge Common. Our office is also a short walk or ride from Cambridge North train station.

Our consulting rooms are private, have natural light and comfortable furniture. There is also a waiting room (shared with some other offices). To maintain the privacy of all our clients, please arrive at reception no more than 5 minutes before your appointment. When you arrive please use your mobile phone to text or ring your counsellor (they should have given you their contact details) and tell them you have arrived – your counsellor will then come and collect you from reception at the appointed time. If you are running late, please also text or leave a message. There are toilets available from the lobby area.

Unfortunately, our offices are not wheelchair accessible and all our offices require walking up stairs.

Counsellors usually take payment by direct bank transfer. Some counsellors also take payment by cheque, cash or bank card.
