Make an appointment

STEP 1:

If you have any questions at all, send us an e-mail or give us a ring.  Please check your junk mail if you haven’t heard from us after two working days (Monday to Friday), as we aim to respond to you as soon as we can.

Our e-mail address is: admin@CambridgeCounsellingService.co.uk

Our phone number is: 01223 261 061 (confidential voice mail service – leave a message and we will ring back).

STEP 2:

For those making an appointment for sessions at rate 1, rate 2, rate 3 or rate 4:

Your counsellor will usually invite you to have either one or two initial sessions (depending on the counsellor).

Make an appointment by sending us an e-mail or by leaving a message on our confidential voicemail service (Tel: 01223 261 061) – available 24 hours per day:

Please specify whether you would like to work with a particular counsellor or have no preference. Also specify if you have a preference for a female or male counsellor.

Please also specify what times you are available for counselling on a weekly basis and the rate you expect to pay.

Please also say a sentence or two about what brings you to counselling at this time.

During the initial session/s you and the counsellor will be able to see whether you will be able to work together well – you can decide not to go ahead with the counsellor at any stage.

If you decide not to work together, the counsellor should also be able to provide recommendations for alternative counsellors or other options for you at the end of the initial session/s.

We’ll usually respond to any e-mails or phone messages by e-mail or telephone within a 48 hours during the working week.

Some counsellors will sometimes request to talk with you on the phone ahead of the initial session/s. This call will tend not to last more than 10 minutes and is used in order to check that the counsellor is the right person to work with you. There is no charge for this call.

Counselling sessions usually last 50 minutes each and happen weekly at the same time each week – although some counsellors offer 1 hour sessions.

Making an appointment at fee rate 5 (£20):

Please get in touch to book sessions paying fee rate 5 by sending us an e-mail or by leaving a message on our confidential voicemail service (Tel: 01223 261 061) – specifying that you would like fee rate 5.

Fee rate 5 sessions tend to be with an Associate Counsellor (a counsellor in the late stages of training).

If you want to pay fee rate 5, we will often contact you by phone or e-mail in the first instance to discuss your requirements and outline the options available.

We will also usually offer a single initial assessment session (priced at £55) with one of the qualified counsellors. At the end of this, which some people find therapeutic in itself, we will then set up one or two initial sessions with an associate counsellor for you or recommend other options for you.

The one or two initial sessions are a chance for you and the associate counsellor to see whether you will be able to work together well – you can decide not to go ahead with the counsellor at any stage.
