Dr Liz Chapman

Hi, I’m Liz. I work as a counsellor and as a psychologist. I am also the co-founder of Cambridge Counselling Service and Founding Director of Cambridge Counselling Service Ltd.

I’ve worked with people with lots of different problems and I would be interested in talking to you, whatever brings you to counselling.

I also have particular experience of working with people with eating and weight-related problems and with people dealing with stress, anxiety and depression.

In addition to Cambridge Counselling Service, I have also worked as a psychologist for the NHS at Cambs and Peterborough Foundation Trust Adult Eating Disorder Service. I offer appointments on Mondays (on-line only),  Wednesday mornings and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

Liz Chapman – background

I previously worked as an Associate Counsellor for the Cambridge University Counselling Service. Before that I worked as an academic researcher for the University of Cambridge for 10 years.

I’m an integrative relational counsellor, which means I draw on a flexible range of strategies for supporting people with change – including CBT and psychodynamic approaches – and I put a particular emphasis on the relationship between the counsellor and the client as the core component of positive change.

In terms of qualifications and memberships, I am a qualified counsellor, Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Psychotherapeutic Counselling section, Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Chartered Psychologist.

I am bound by the UKCP’s ethical principles and code of professional conduct.

I am available for appointments: Mondays (on line only),  Wednesday morning and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
